| History In 2001 Arthur van Beveren and Lenco van der Weel decided to start the project bunkersite.com. The new website combined the field guide style of lcbunkers.com and the encyclopedia style of AvB's Bunkersite into a new guide to bunkers in Europe. To please a wide variety of visitors the website is in the English language only. We thank our bunker teammembers for their help. Contents main menu. "Atlantikwall locations" will give you a geographical overview of our information on the Atlantikwall. "Other locations" covers the sidesteps to fortifications outside the Atlantikwall (i.e. Westwall, Südwall and Führerhauptquartier). The "Armour & Armament" part presents an overview of the steel parts used in the bunkers, an overview of remaining German cupolas in Europe and information about the re-use of warship guns in the wall. "Bunkeroptik" is the atlas on the internet about optics used inside or around German bunkers. On the "Updates" page we will inform you on any updates on the website. You can leave a message or question in our "Guestbook". "Search" will bring you to the search form, here you can search the site for certain words or typenumbers of bunkers and armoured parts. If you have any further questions mail one of us by clicking on the names in the upper-menu. Contents "About" section. Here we present a list of all Regelbauten and some standard Vf-types used in the Atlantikwall ("Typology") . "Sources" contains a vast bibliography. "Links" leads to some interesting other websites. A log of our bunkertrips can be found at "Teams". Navigation Both "Locations" sections present overviews of main areas in Europe. Clicking a link brings you to a menu in the left frame. Depending on the amount of pictures or information, this menu has one or more submenus. Through the links in the upperleft corner of the menuframe, it is always possible to go back to all previous chosen upper-menus. Standardization We use the native names of the geographical designations of towns, countries and regions. (i.e. Flushing is called Vlissingen). The description of the German bunkers is according to the publications of the author and specialist Rudi Rolf.
