The city of Bremen was a very important harbor for the Kriegsmarine. There were maintenance facilities, U-boat factories and drydocks.
The Atlantikwall part of this region is not very well known, this is due to the fact that soon after the war almost all bunkers were demolished.
What remain are the really big constructions for building the U-boats, in this case "big" means huge.
