Stützpunkt Pisz
The most northern Stützpunkt of the Galindestellung secured the roads to Lötzen
where all the army HQs were situated.
Pisz was called Johannisburg in German towns and it is one of the bigger towns
in the area.
Most of the bunkers are located north of the railroad along the road to Ruciane
near Snopki.
More than a dozen Baustarke D groupshelters can be found. A further four garages
and two
MG positions were built. A very rare Regelbau 107a has a central position and
covers three sides.
The HQ of the Stützpunkt was a 502 with a small observation turret.
Southwest of the village, near the Pisa river is a lone 501 with fieldpositions
and an anti-tankditch.
An old warehouse in Pisz reminds of the German history.
