Jeże Wschód, or Gehsen Ost in German times, shows another
example of the standard layout
with a central Sechsschartenturm and three 105c MG-casemates. This time it is
another
rare two floor 113d. Lots of trenches can be traced back today and one 105c
still has its
armoured parts. A weird experience is the deserted German civilian cemetery.
Crosses and
stones suddenly appear in the forests. Next to it is a military burial place for
a couple of
German soldiers from World War One. Further south along the road was a POW camp
Stalag I F/V.
