Longues-sur-Mer, Normandie
Without any doubt this is the most visited battery on the Atlantikwall. Wn 48 had four gun casemates type M 272 and a fire control bunker type M 262. It was armed with 4 naval 15 cm Tbts KC/36 guns and men of the MAA 260 occupied the site. Today it's a big tourist attraction.
In the movie "The Longest Day" major Pluskat cried: "Direkt auf mich zu !! (please note that Pluskat and his dog Harras were stationned elsewhere, so not at Longues sur Mer)
