Due to heavy airraids in the days preceding D-Day, the Germans decided to move the heavy guns to the forest away from the coast. The Rangers stormed the cliffs and found the casemates empty. They succeeded later in their task by capturing the guns and the crew in the forest. The operation was certainly not a waste of effort. The main armament for Stp 75 was 6 guns 15,5 cm K 418 (f) with a range of 19,5 km. The unit was 2./H.K.A.A. 832.
In spite of the fact that this area is a public site, many details of the interior are left.
