Pas de Calais

This chapter covers the part of France with most of the Fernkampfbatterien. These big guns could place their shells on ships in the Channel. Some of them even reached British soil. Railway guns were also used as long distance batteries. But in between these batteries several other strongpoints are worth the visit. We start at Calais with the battery Oldenburg and we end this part at Ambleteuse and the river Le Slack. From here KVA-C with Boulogne sur Mer continues. The area was visited on numerous one day trips and a major contribution was made by Henk Adriaanse during the years.

Fine drawing in the firecontrol stand of Lindemann.
